Project Recognition

Project Recognition

All local chapters have projects they can do within their own community.  By completing and submitting a Project Recognition, they can pass on this information to other chapters, and possibly receive recognition at the National level.  After completing a 4-6 page description of the project and how it was developed and conducted, chapters send four copies of each project recognition book to the National Programming VP.  After being reviewed by three judges, recognition is given for the top three projects in each of six areas:  INTERNAL AREAS:  Member Enrichment, Member Social, and Ways & Means and EXTERNAL AREAS:  Fundraising, Service, and Education.

Outstanding Achievement in Programming

Members who complete 6 requirements in programming are recognized at Mid-Year or National Convention.  If the members have been participating and certifying at a local level, OAP certification is easy. All certifications are sent to the Programming VP. Certification requires the following:

  1. Certify in Effective Speaking or Writing;
  2. Certify in the STEP program that applies to you;
  3. Certify in Focus on Women;
  4. Participate in a program involving the USWT External Area (currently Parents of Autistic Children);
  5. Participate in a program that is offered by your state and not the USWT; and
  6. Participate in one competition on the State or National level (competitions include Effective Writing, Effective Speaking, STEP Focus on Women, and Project Recognition).
