Domestic Violence Awareness Information

The United States Women of Today creed states that we are "dedicated to serving our community and nation."  Since our inception in 1985, the USWT has worked with foundations such as March of Dimes, Arthritis Foundation, Lost Child Network, Autism, Breast Cancer Awareness, Resolve, Multiple Sclerosis Society and Domestic Violence Awareness.  Since 1985, over $1,000,000 has been donated to the above organizations.  In the past our charitable foundations were supported by our organization on a rotating three (3) year bid basis.  However, as of May 1, 2011 Domestic Violence Awareness has become our permanent national charitable foundation.

Educating members and our community about Domestic Violence and how it affects the lives of women, children and men in our country is the focus of the United States Women of Today.  Our Domestic Violence Awareness Program Manager will work closely with state and local contacts to promote both educational and fundraising projects.

For more information regarding educational and fundraising ideas, please review our current Domestic Violence Awareness Manual.

Everyone has the right to live without fear and violence.

Each Domestic Violence Awareness Program manager is encouraged to promote the area in a way she finds most beneficial and fun. Having a fun theme/logo often makes the promotion of this area easier and more effective. She may also offer any kind of incentives she believes will encourage members' participation.

The Domestic Violence Awareness is one of four programming areas promoted through the USWT. The Internal Areas are Personal Development, STEP (Success through Enthusiastic Participation) and Health & Wellness. All four of these areas fall under the supervision of the USWT Programming Vice President.

Internal Programming Areas
