PARLIAMENTARIAN

Hello!  My name is Marcia Allison, and I will be serving as your USWT 2010 – 2011 Parliamentarian. 

I joined the Chelmsford, Massachusetts Women of Today in 1987.  I have held most local and state positions over the years, and in 2008/09 I joined the National Staff as your FOW/Chaplain PM.  This year I’m excited to be serving as your Parliamentarian. 

When not involved in Women of Today activities, I love to hang out with my husband Richard and extended family.  To relax, there’s reading, Sudoku & crosswords, and going out for walks. I also work full-time as an optician. 

To me, the Parliamentarian position, maintaining the Bylaws & Policies, and overseeing Roberts’ Rules, is the “nuts & bolts of the organization.  It’s what keeps

    I hope to hear from all Parliamentarians, state and local.  Please introduce yourself and forward a copy of your Bylaws, Policies, or other documents.  I’ll be happy to look them over for compatibility with the National documents.
    Since many chapters do not meet over the summer, I will not be running a fast-start this year.  Instead, there will be a Second Trimester Momentum incentive.  To qualify, you must:

• submit during the second trimester
• submit a copy of your state or local Constitution/Bylaws/Policies
• include an outline or timeline indicating that you are reviewing & updating your documents
• include the contact/Chairperson’s name, as well as all of those working on the committee (if applicable).  Be sure to indicate your state/chapter.
   
  The names will be entered in a prize drawing to be awarded at year-end convention.
